With effect from 18 June 2010, Royal Brunei are changing their aircraft type to Boeing B777-200, and will be progressively introducing the B777 throughout 2010 as they retire the Boeing 767 aircraft. There are two classes on board the aircraft, Business and Economy Class. Seat configurations are 2-2-2 in Business Class and 3-3-3 in Economy.

Business Class Lounges are available to all Business Class passengers at all their destinations and transit points including Heathrow’s Terminal 4.

Alcohol is not served on board the aircraft, but passengers are welcome to consume their own duty free – mixers, ice and lemon will be provided. The Australian government does not allow alcohol in Australian air space. Therefore for passengers in transit between Brunei and Australia no duty-free alcohol is permitted in hand luggage. On the return transit in Brunei from Australia alcohol in hand luggage is permitted, but it must be unopened and remain in its sealed Duty Free packaging (it may be opened and consumed once airborne and leaving Brunei).

Stopping over in Brunei: two litres of spirits or wine and 12 cans of beer may be taken into Brunei for personal consumption. A declaration form available in the arrivals area is to be completed and handed to Customs at exit.

The currency of Brunei is the Brunei Dollar which is linked to the Singapore dollar and can be used in Singapore; the exchange rate is approximately £1 = BN$2.111.

Passengers who are in transit in Brunei for over four hours may take advantage of a complimentary city tour or a transit meal at the airport’s Coffee Garden.
