Thailand: Pattaya – Central Festival

CanDoCanGo stamp of approvalCentral Festival opened in January 2009 and is currently Pattaya’s newest shopping mall, featuring a branch of the Central department store chain. So, as you might expect, its facilities for disabled visitors are the best of any of Pattaya’s shopping malls.

All floors are accessible via a lift which has easy to reach buttons which are also marked in Braille. There are toilets for disabled users which feature grabrails, easy flushing and sinks planned for use at wheelchair height, kept to a high standard of cleanliness.

As for the shops and banks, they are also fully accessible, and the staff are very willing to help customers with disabilities.

Although restaurants do not have menus in Braille, staff will happily assist blind diners with menu choices. None of the restaurants feature dedicated wheelchair tables but, again, they’re ready to make adjustments to accommodate wheelchair users comfortably.
