Atatürk International Airport (Atatürk Uluslararası Havalimanı) is Istanbul’s international airport and Turkey’s largest international hub. With an average passenger traffic total of 32 million per year, this makes Atatürk International the 19th busiest airport in the world.
Location
Atatürk Airport is located on the European side of the city, 22 km west of the city centre. It is situated on the D100 expressway and near the O-2 and O-3 motorways.
From Istanbul city centre: Take the D100 expressway straight out to the airport.
From Edirne and the West: Take the O-3 motorway, then the airport spur southwards to the airport.
From the East: Take the O-4 towards Istanbul, then the O-2 ringway round the city until you reach the airport spur.
