Athens International Airport

Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos (Diethnís Aeroliménas Athinón Eleftherios Venizelos) is Greece’s major airport and the hub of Aegean Airlines and Olympic Air. Some 16 million passengers pass through the airport each year, although it was upgraded to 21 million passengers a year with the new development upgrade in 2010.

Location

The airport is located 32 km (20 miles) south-east of central Athens. The simplest way to reach it by road is to head for Athens, then take the A6 Athens bypass motorway eastbound to the airport turn-off. From Athens itself, take the shortest route available to the A6, then head eastwards/southwards to the airport.
