Belfast: George Best Belfast City Airport

Formerly known simply as Belfast City Airport; the name change took place in 2006 after the death of noted celebrity footballer George Best. More than 2½ million passengers pass through the airport each year, to 40-plus destinations.

Location

The airport is 3 miles (5 km) from Belfast city centre and is located on the A2 between Belfast and Holywood on the south shore of Belfast’s Lough. When approaching Belfast from the M1 or M2 you will follow the signs to The Belfast City Airport, leading to the A2 via the M3.
