Liverpool John Lennon Airport

Liverpool John Lennon Airport is the international airport which serves Liverpool along with the rest of Merseyside and elsewhere in North West England and North Wales. The airport was renamed in 2002 after John Lennon who, as everyone knows, was one of the founder members of the world-famous band The Beatles. Upwards of 5 million passengers a year pass through the airport on their way to 70-plus destinations.

Location

Liverpool Airport is located 7 miles south-east of the city centre in Speke, adjacent to the River Mersey.

When travelling from the North or North East, follow the M6 southbound to Junction 21A with the M62, then follow the M62 west, and exit at Junction 6 onto the A5300 to the A561 and follow signs to the airport, which is situated off Speke Hall Avenue.

When travelling from the South or South East, follow the M6 northbound to Junction 20 with the M56. Follow the M56 west, and exit at Junction 12 onto A557/A562 dual carriageway via Runcorn Bridge to merge with the A561. Follow signs to the airport, situated off Speke Hall Avenue.

If travelling from North Wales or the Wirral use the M53 and M56. Travelling from North Wales join the A55 to connect with the M56, then follow instructions as for those travelling from the South.
