Madrid-Barajas Airport
Madrid-Barajas Airport is the main international airport serving Madrid in Spain. Over 49.8 million passengers pass through the airport, making it the country’s largest and busiest. With 86 airlines serving well over 100 destinations worldwide, it’s Europe’s fourth busiest airport after London Heathrow, Paris Charles de Gaulle and Frankfurt.
Location
The airport is 12 km to the north-east of Madrid city centre and is connected by motorway to Madrid’s main access roads.
From the M-40 orbital motorway (anti-clockwise): At Junction 9A, take the M-14. For Terminals 1-3 leave at the appropriate exit; for Terminal 4, continue onto the M-13 and leave at the appropriate exit.
From the M-40 orbital motorway (clockwise): At Junction 2B, take the R-2 radial motorway and leave at Junction 3 for the M-12 and the airport. For Terminal 4, simply leave the motorway and follow the signs for Terminal 4; for Terminals 1, 2 and 3 join the M-13 and leave at the appropriate exit.
From the A1 and the North: at Junction 17, take the M-12 and follow the directions as for the M-40 clockwise.
From the A2: at Junction 10, take the M-14 northbound and follow the directions as for the M-40 anticlockwise.
From the M11: For Terminals 1-3 follow the motorway to its terminus and then follow the signs for each individual terminal. For Terminal 4 join the M-12 northbound at Junction 7 and take the T4 exit very shortly afterwards.
