Jetstar

We flew from Bangkok to Singapore (BKK-SIN) on Jetstar in an Airbus 320. The JetStar staff are friendly and helpful, plus the seats are more generous than AirAsia’s, so it was a fairly good experience all in all. But, oh, the toilets were dreadful.

The toilet bowl was very dirty with splashes all around the rim. The handtowel bin had clearly not emptied for a while; there hadn’t been that many passengers going to the toilet on the flight, and yet the bin was full. This toilet was pretty awful for anyone but it could have been a real hazard for any visually impaired person. Yuk! Shutting a blind person in a cubicle of filth doesn’t really bear thinking about, so Jetstar gets a big thumbs down for their toilet on that particular flight.

Finally, the flight was delayed by a considerable amount because SIN was only operating one runway, and we had to queue to land. The pilot announced that we were No.7 in the queue, so we had to circle for about half an hour before he could get clearance to land. It wasn’t a big deal, but a half-hour delay in the air is quite a long time on a flight that’s supposed to take two-and-a-half hours.
